Manage Your Android Device From Your Desktop With Droid2Desk

If you fancy being able to control and manage your Android device from your desktop, take a look at a project that XDA forum member BootsSiR has been working on. Based on the devs’ Nexus One, Droid2Desk should work with any Android device running Eclair or higher. The desktop Windows app allows you to connect to your phone via WiFi and control various functions such as viewing and sending SMS, viewing notifcations such as GMail and GTalk, as well as remotely controlling the camera and transferring files to and from the device. Additionally the app shows device details such as name, type, manufacturer, battery status, and battery info. In the SMS view, as well as showing all current SMS conversations on the device, Droid2Desk also shows individual conversations and allows you to continue on an SMS conversation. The camera currently takes still shows but the XDA dev has stated that video can also be a possibility.
