According to recent Analytics report Apple dominate the Tablet market with 95.5% thanks to the iPad. Apple shipped 4.19 millions of the 4.4 millions tablet sold in Q3.Android powered tablets were in second place with 2.3% market share.But the tablets market is just starting to heat up and by this time in one and two years things may look very different. Analyst are predicting that 54.4 million tablets will be sold in 2011 with Apple iPads been around 36.5 million of those. One of Apple competitors ViewSonic put those number at 45 millions tablet sold and 22.5 millions of those been iPads. On either scenario Apple iPad will dominate the market with something in the 50-60% range in 2011. But for 2012 is expected that the tablet market mirrors the smarthphone with Android dominating the market with 50% or more and Apple in second place with something in the 30% range. The third place will be either Blackberry, WebOS or MeeGo. Blackberry seems to have the lead here by pushing the Playbook first and targeting the enterprise. But we cannot discard WebOS as the third pace winner. HP have big plans for WebOS and it will be realising not one but at least three WebOS tablet in 2011.
Even when Apple losses its lead in tablet market share in 2012 it will still command the highest revenues and profits for the market just as it does in the smartphone market today.
